On-Line Emergency Management Compliance

The way of the now, is on-line shopping!
OK. So it has been around for a fair while, in fact, many retailers have long debated the validity of on-line outlets against the "bricks and mortar" presence in the market place.
But then, a global pandemic. If anything came from this, it was the forcing of so many people to buy on-line, and yes, there was resistance prior to this. Now we have retailers posting huge growth in the on-line (or e-commerce) sector.
That's sort of where we come in, we came up with the concept some time ago, it was fate that forced our hand though. Whilst there is an expectation that retailers have this as an offering, in the emergency management space, there was no expectation, and in some cases zero appetite.
Let's be blunt, many of our beloved clients just want compliance, except for value adds (free stuff), they don't want all the bells and whistles. And here was us thinking we are selling "saving lives", when in actual fact, Australian Standards, Acts and Regulations were already doing this for us, we just needed to realise that being compliant was saving lives. Once we made this discovery (yes, we rolled ourselves into a ball and cried for a while), we were able to get more in touch with what our clients really needed.
As the new generations take key leadership positions within businesses, we need to cater to click sales, transactions that only require messaging, at the most, or complete do it yourself at best (all the articles we read are saying that the least human contact the better). Don't get us wrong, we love dealing with customers, and we will always be available for face to face consulting and delivery. This is also great for those generations that still like to deal this way. But we also need to realise that if retail on-line shopping is growing, why would other industries not think or offer the same opportunity, especially as it is the new now....
Now, we don't pretend to know everything about on-line presence, we are experts in emergency management, not 'www' stuff. But we do know that everything a premise or site might need, for emergency management compliance, can be delivered, or provided on-line. How cool is that? Yes, there is a bit of re-learning to do, but on a whole, it can and is being done right now. Better than this, we have found that we can facilitate this cheaper than the current industry benchmarks, a saving from a cost of doing business aspect that can be passed back to the client, a real bonus.
One of our greatest pushbacks (from a client perspective) has been getting everyone together for face to face training sessions. Our work-around for this has been to provide on-line video training that can be done by anyone, anywhere, anytime. This makes training easier, which (with some back of house magic for reporting) means it supports compliance.
We are actually excited by the prospect, and many of our clients are starting to think the same way. On-line crosses borders (even when politicians say no), on-line creates national consistency, on-line is easily adaptable to client language and culture.
We didn't want to make this a sales spin, we wanted to point out that, in the emergency management space, there is a need to change our delivery options. We have done it, and we are ahead of the game, but our clients need to get on board as well. We don't even mind that our competition can see one of our major strategies. We just want to change the industry offering, and everyone needs to get involved in order to achieve this. That's why we have been sending the message that we are making emergency management compliance Easier, Cheaper, but above all, Better. Hopefully, you can see the real message is that this can, and is being done, to compliant standards. Come on people, let's adapt our way of thinking, and target the value of on-line offerings. We have made a great start, by facilitating a complete on-line experience, for everything from training, through to diagrams and emergency manuals. Our customers can choose to click, without contact, or they can reach out. This is the new now, this is what our clients need, options, resources and assistance.
